Kyle Solomon Founder of S4G
Coach Solomon has many years of experience as a basketball player and coach at highly competitive programs. He has a successful and proven track record of recruiting and developing the talents of student-athletes at the professional, college, high school varsity and junior varsity levels. The passion to have a place for young people to come and excel in life, academics and sports began many years ago in Yonkers, NY when my son was 6 years old. My wife and I got involved in all the organizations, we participated by coaching, mentoring or chaperoning when possible. We both played and had a real love for basketball and our son was no different; he showed more interest in basketball than any other sport. We met and befriended many parents of the kids that our son played with. At the ages of 6 to about 13, a lot of parents were involved but sadly enough, parents began to drop out of site at 13 and up. My wife and I just couldn't see ourselves not being there. We had a bigger vision. We wanted to help every kid in any way we could. If there were problems at home, in school or on the court, we were there. S4G is just the beginning of what we want to do.
Coach Kevin Gibbs is the head coach and director of basketball operations at S4G. Coach Gibbs is a coach/trainer/mentor/motivational speaker. He is an advocate for young men and women to empower themselves. Coach Gibbs brings passion, dedication, hard work, innovation, and most importantly experience. My journey has lead me to play and coach on all levels of basketball. I want to pass along the knowledge that I have obtained to help young men and women find their purpose in life and basketball is just my platform. I don’t teach basketball I teach life through basketball because basketball is just a reflection of life. When the ball stops bouncing and there are no more practices, film sessions, and coaches yelling what have you learned? Who are you? Where have you been? Where are you going? How are you going to get there? These are the questions that I had to ask myself when I decided to retire from playing basketball. These are the questions I want the men and women to know before they make their decision. Growing up on the streets of NY all I had was a hope and a dream through hard work, dedication, and most importantly good coaches I have turned that dream into a reality. Now I’m dedicated to helping others do the same. I was coached and mentored by Coach Solomon he has helped transform my life and now I’m helping others transform theirs.
More about Shooting4Greatness
Shooting4greatness provides advanced technical basketball training to enhance the student-athlete's skills. Shooting4greatness was started in Raleigh, NC after watching high school, AAU and recreational league coaches destroy the spirit and dreams of student-athletes. Most of these coaches; coach for the stipend, get their coaching techniques online or has a child on the team and want to make sure their child gets ample playing time. All the wrong reasons. Coaching is for the better of the student-athlete, not for accolades or extra money. Shooting4greatness gives student-athletes and their parents peace of mind that he is here to benefit them. Shooting4greatness makes it his mission to provide an avenue to college and becoming a responsible and accountable adult.
